Senior Engineer - Customer Quality Assurance (m/f/d)

Your tasks and responsibilities:

 

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for customers on quality-related matters after Start of Production (SOP) and B-sample delivery
  • Ensure timely and effective responses to quality issues to OEMs, including managing inquiries, rework, and sorting activities
  • Establish and maintain strong, long-term customer relationships
  • Accurately communicate customer-specific requirements to the internal quality core team
  • Collaborate with internal project quality teams to analyze and resolve issues occurring at customer production sites and in the field
  • Coordinate the return and disposition of rejected parts, working closely with customers on critical quality concerns
  • Provide guidance to customers on proper assembly processes and monitor the assembly status of products including cells, modules, packs, battery systems, etc.
  • Manage and respond to safety-related incidents in a timely and structured manner
  • Support the resolution of key customer complaints in international markets
  • Demonstrate flexibility and willingness to travel as required by business needs

 

Our requirements:

 

  • A bachelor’s or master´s degree in a technical field (e.g., mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, automotive engineering) or comparable technical training
  • Several years of professional experience in quality management, ideally in the automotive supply industry or in a direct OEM environment
  • In-depth knowledge of automotive core tools: APQP, PPAP/PPF, FMEA, SPC, MSA, 8D methodology
  • Experience in complaint management, root cause analysis, and developing corrective actions
  • Proficiency in quality standards (IATF 16949, ISO 9001) and customer-specific OEM standards
  • Knowledge of battery product manufacturing technologies
  • Strong ability to serve as the primary point of contact for OEMs and to communicate complex technical issues clearly
  • Experience in establishing and maintaining long-term customer relationships
  • Confident demeanor during escalations, audits, and technical discussions
  • Fluent in spoken and written German and English due to the international nature of the role
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, particularly regarding safety-related incidents
  • Ability to evaluate technical failure patterns, coordinate recalls, and implement corrective actions in a structured manner
  • Close collaboration with project quality, development, production, and suppliers
  • Willingness to travel domestically and internationally as required by project needs
  • Ability to handle high pressure and demonstrate flexibility when dealing with urgent customer inquiries, experience in managing critical quality issues and escalation management
