Manager Investmentmanagement (m/f/d)

This is your new challenge:

Team management:

• Head of the European investment management team specialising in climate technology (frontier technologies) at CATL Corporate Venture Capital

Investment Network and Technical Knowledge Expansion:

• Building and expanding CATL's investment network with leading academics, R&D labs, technology transfer companies, start-ups, public funding bodies, organizations, institutions, market companions and venture capital firms
• Monitor all European activities to maintain relationships with other European organizations and identify key trends/opportunities in the European innovation ecosystem 

Technology research & startup sourcing:

• Search and selection of start-ups that align with the company's strategic objectives and have a high potential for a successful strategic investment
• Evaluate trends in air conditioning technology and market landscape to shape CATL's European investment strategy 

Startup due diligence

• Support the onboarding of promising startups and manage collaboration projects between CATL, startups and third parties
• Working closely with CATL's internal technical experts in the evaluation of POCs (Proof of Concept)
• Evaluate investment risks and opportunities of startups considering various aspects such as market, team, technology, product, intellectual property and regulatory compliance 

These are your previous achievements:

• Successfully completed a degree in a STEM subject such as mathematics, physics, materials science, chemistry, robotics, energy, nuclear or solar engineering, environmental or climate technology
• Experience in research, development and innovation, including technology transfer, publishing and analyzing scientific papers and intellectual property, e.g. patent filing and copyright/trademark rights
• Awareness of global market trends and critical evaluation of the new technologies that will play in the future
• Curiosity and open mindset to quickly understand emerging technologies
• Venture capital experience, either as a founder or investor, and excellent analytical skills
• Strong networking and relationship building skills including negotiation skills
• Strong interpersonal skills and emotional intelligence
• Excellent written and verbal presentation skills combined with a talent for communicating complex technical information to a non-technical audience
• Enjoy working in an international team and good people management skills that promote an employee-centred and collaborative work environment
• Excellent project, task and time management including business acumen with strong ability to create value for internal and external stakeholders
• Strong written and spoken English skills are required; knowledge of German, French and Mandarin is an advantage
• International work experience, especially with a connection to Asian culture, is advantageous
• Strong willingness to learn and travel
