The Senior Corporate Counsel primarily acts as legal advisor for CATL's German locations, provides strategic guidance, and manages all legal aspects of the organization to minimize risk and support business objectives.
Responsibilities include:
- Legal advice: Providing expert advice to executives and management on all legal matters, including corporate governance, finance, marketing, human resources, and operations
- Risk management: Identifying, assessing, and managing legal risks to ensure compliance with local and international laws and regulations
- Contract management: Overseeing the drafting, review, and negotiation of all corporate contracts, including supplier, customer, employment, subcontractor, and sales agreements
- Compliance and governance: Independently developing and sustainably implementing compliance programs, policies, and procedures to ensure regulatory compliance and ethical conduct; managing corporate record-keeping
- Litigation management: Developing strategy and overseeing all litigation, managing external legal counsel, and representing the company in court when necessary
- Intellectual property: Protecting the company's intellectual property, including patents, trademarks, and copyrights
- Strategic development: Participation in management decision-making processes, contribution of legal perspectives on new markets, product launches, and strategic initiatives
- Team leadership: Management and supervision of an internal legal department team, coordination with external law firms, and cooperation with works council representatives to uniformly advance the company's goals
These are your achievements to date:
- Successfully completed law degree and German admission after the second state examination
- Extensive professional experience in the above-mentioned field with a broad understanding of various areas of law
- Ideally, experience as a corporate lawyer in a manufacturing company or in the automotive sector
- Strong personnel management and leadership skills
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to think strategically and economically, aligning legal advice with corporate goals
- High integrity, sound judgment, and resilience
- Business fluent English skills
