Job Summary:
We are seeking a Management Accountant to join our team at the production plant in Hungary. As a core member of the financial control team, you will be responsible for the plant's management accounting activities, including cost analysis, budgeting, operational performance reporting, and business decision support. The ideal candidate should possess solid management accounting experience, strong business acumen, and excellent data analysis capabilities, with the ability to provide high-quality financial analysis to support management decision-making and drive continuous improvement in operational efficiency and profitability.
Your key responsibilities will include:
1. Cost Management and Analysis:
- Analyze, monitor, and report on production costs, including tracking and variance analysis of raw materials, labor, manufacturing overheads, and other cost elements.
- Support the establishment and maintenance of standard costing systems; regularly analyze variances between actual and standard costs, and drive improvement initiatives.
- Participate in inventory valuation and physical inventory counts to ensure accuracy and reasonableness of inventory data.
2. Budgeting and Forecasting:
- Assist in preparing the annual operating budget (including revenue, costs, expenses, and capital expenditures), coordinating budget targets with various business departments.
- Prepare monthly and quarterly rolling forecasts, updating financial projections in a timely manner to reflect business changes.
- Track budget performance, analyze variances between actual results and budget, and provide actionable recommendations.
3. Operational Performance Reporting:
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual management reports, including plant P&L analysis, key performance indicator (KPI) tracking, and operational trend analysis.
- Prepare presentation materials for management and Group headquarters, clearly presenting the plant's financial position and operating results.
- Develop and optimize management reporting templates to enhance reporting efficiency and decision-making relevance.
4. Business Decision Support:
- Act as a finance business partner, collaborating closely with business departments to provide financial modeling, cost-benefit analysis, and project feasibility assessments.
- Participate in financial evaluations of investment projects, including ROI analysis, payback period calculations, etc.
- Provide professional financial insights and recommendations for operational efficiency improvement, cost reduction, and process optimization initiatives.
5. Compliance and Process Improvement:
- Ensure management accounting practices comply with company internal control policies and relevant Hungarian regulations.
Identify and drive improvements in management accounting processes to enhance data quality and work efficiency.
What you need to succeed in this role:
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Accounting, Finance, Management, or a related field. CIMA, ACCA, or equivalent certification is preferred.
- 3–5 years experience in management accounting or financial analysis. Experience in manufacturing or production environments is preferred.
- Familiar with cost accounting, budgeting, and financial analysis methodologies. Knowledge of local Hungarian tax and regulatory environments is a plus.
- Proficient in SAP systems (FICO module) and advanced Excel skills.
- Excellent command of English (written and spoken), capable of effective collaboration with multinational teams and group headquarters.
